Golfing for good: Wain Homes' generous donation

We are so thankful for the wonderful support we have received from Wain Homes! We were delighted to receive an incredible £16,000 donation from Bradley Stoke based housebuilder Wain Homes following the company’s annual charity golf day.

This year we have had the pleasure of being Wain Homes Severn Valley Charity of the year, and it has been such a wonderful partnership. The Wain Homes team have been volunteering with us, joining in with #LonelinessAwarenessWeek and most importantly, fundraising!

As the wonderful Helen Ker-Bridges so rightly said:

“We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing amount of money raised by the Wain Homes team and contractors at the Golf Day, they really smashed all expectations.”

The money raised will go directly to ensure we can deliver our much-needed projects. Our core local projects are Christmas Cheer – Christmas Day events for those who would be alone and Marmalade Companions – supporting people into new connections. We also continue to host the national Loneliness Awareness Week campaign in June.

Carl Haley, managing director of Wain Homes Severn Valley, said:

“The Marmalade Trust is a charity chosen by our team to support with fundraising activities this year as loneliness is a human emotion often overlooked and its impact on people can be devastating. Supporting people of all ages in our community is part of our role as a responsible builder and we are committed to backing Marmalade Trust’s mission to help people feel more connected.”

“Thank you to our sponsors, James Hargreaves, and all the companies which took part in the golf day. Their efforts will make a huge difference to the lives of many people in our community.”

We were delighted to be joined by our friends from Wain Homes at our Summer Party and our 10th birthday celebration too!
