Feeling the love this Christmas with Datemakers

Datemakers is dating with a difference. Instead of catering to the already saturated singles market, this new ‘connection concierge’ service provide innovative date nights for existing couples, or even for a pair of friends who fancy a night out together.

“We connect couples who are tired with the normal dating scene with independent businesses who can host a great date,” says Imogen Sewell from Datemakers. “We’ve sent hundreds of Bristol couples on experiences they’ll never forget from blending their own gins to a private aerial silks class.” Datemakers aren’t just about matters of the heart, they’re big at heart too – they are donating 10% of all their sales to Marmalade’s Christmas Cheer lunch this year.

“We really wanted to support Marmalade because they echo what we believe in,” Imogen says. “We don’t specifically aim to match-make but encourage people to do fun and interesting things. Especially around Christmas, which can be a lonely time of the year for some people.”

Datemakers are donating 10% from gift voucher sales to support Marmalade’s work. “People go onto our website where we have sixty different date ideas and they can choose where and when they want to go,” explains Imogen. “It doesn’t have to always be romance based, some of the best dates are the fun ones.”

Datemakers are at the Harbourside Christmas Market in Bristol every weekend up until Christmas and are proving quite the talking point. “We’ve had lots of people coming up to chat and there’s a lovely atmosphere there,” Imogen says. Like Marmalade, the Datemaker’s team recognise the importance of having the company of others. “If you are feeling loneliness, it helps to accept you’re feeling lonely and then do something about it, like going out and doing things,” says Imogen. “Everyone is striving for the same thing whatever your age – it’s all about companionship.”
